Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Aurora Advertising ("Aurora", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or engage us for services. We treat privacy as an operating commitment, not a checkbox.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you give us directly

  • Contact details — name, work email, phone number, and company information you submit through forms on this site (contact, job application, consultation booking).
  • Communications — messages you send us via email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn, or scheduled calls.
  • Application materials — if you apply for a role through our careers page, we collect the contents of your CV and any cover note you include.

1.2 Information collected automatically

  • Analytics — we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifying information. We see aggregate metrics like page views, referrer, country, and device class. We do not see your IP address.
  • Server logs — our hosting provider (Cloudflare) retains short-term access logs for security and abuse prevention.

1.3 Information we do not collect

We do not run third-party advertising trackers. We do not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Ads tags, or any cross-site tracking infrastructure on this website. We do not sell personal information to anyone, ever.

2. How we use information

  • To respond to inquiries and provide the services you request.
  • To send transactional communications related to active engagements.
  • To improve our website and service delivery.
  • To comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud or abuse.

3. Client data (data we handle on behalf of clients)

When we deliver outbound calling, lead generation, customer support, or other services to a client, we may process personal information about that client's prospects or customers. In this context, our client is the data controller and Aurora is a data processor.

  • We process client data strictly to perform the services agreed in our engagement contract.
  • Where possible, we work inside the client's systems (their CRM, helpdesk, dialer) so that personal data never leaves the client's environment.
  • Every Aurora agent signs a confidentiality agreement before access to any client system.
  • We make a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) available on request for clients subject to GDPR, UK GDPR, or comparable regimes.

4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For visitors in the EU and UK, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent — for any optional cookies and analytics; you control this via the cookie banner.
  • Contract — to provide services you've requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to run and secure our website, and to communicate with prospects who have contacted us first.

5. Data retention

  • Contact form submissions: retained for 24 months unless you ask us to delete sooner.
  • Job applications: retained for 12 months after the role closes, then deleted.
  • Active client data: retained for the duration of the engagement and returned or destroyed within 30 days of contract end, per the engagement DPA.
  • Aggregate analytics: indefinite (no personal data).

6. Sharing

We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the website and deliver email (e.g., Cloudflare for hosting and analytics, Resend for transactional email).
  • Legal authorities, where required by applicable law.

We do not share contact form submissions, application materials, or client data with anyone outside of the parties involved in delivering the requested service.

7. International transfers

Aurora operates from Ethiopia. Information you submit through our website may be transferred to and processed in Ethiopia and other countries where our service providers operate (notably the United States and the European Union via Cloudflare's edge network). Where applicable, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers of personal data subject to EU or UK law.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information: TLS in transit, access control on internal systems, agent NDAs, and least-privilege access to client environments. No system is perfectly secure; we'll notify you and applicable authorities promptly if we discover a breach affecting your personal information.

10. Children

Our services are intended for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date above. Substantive changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a reasonable period.
